a sick computer

*Just a little post about my computer being sick*
my computer's battery has not been holding a charge very well and one of the fans that cools it down sounds like an airplane about to take off when I would turn it on. I decided to take it in to apple and get it fixed.

I do not understand how people just hang out in that store. There are tons and tons of people just messing around in there, and it is so hot! I was sweating just waiting for the genius bar to open up. I for one never want to go in to that store unless I have to. They were super helpful and nice and were going to fix my computer for free! yay free fixings and free battery--sweet.

I got my computer back but still the thing was not holding a charge. I wanted to run the battery all the way out to see how long it lasted, and when I did my computer would not turn on.
I charged it and charged it and charged it
It didn't even acknowledge me and try to turn on.
So I went back into my favorite place --- ugh--- waited---- and they took my computer away and shipped it off somewhere.
I hope to get it back soon because I need to upload more pictures and save some documents for my class I am taking on it.

The good things that have come from this is that I am almost done reading Harry Potter 7 just in time to refresh my memory for the movie this weekend. I haven't wasted my time on the computer messing around but reading something fun.

as I am nearing the end of the 7th book, even though I have read it before, I completely forgot most of the things that are happening in the book and I don't want Harry Potter to end...

Lexington, Virgina

After the beach we drove up to my grandparents house in near Lexington, Virginia
It is so pretty back there and I love all the history that surrounds the area
On our way we stopped in Williamsburg since Dane has never actually been to the East Coast for a visit.
I don't have my picture uploaded
We walked along the streets and saw an introductory video with terrible acting. But it was fun being with Brooke Bret and the girls.
We made it to my grandparents house and I haven't been there probably since I was 13 or younger.
This is the back of their home and the land they have back there. It is so beautiful
I love their windows they have in their house that looks out to an awesome view

Dane and I were only able to have one full day there because we had to head back on monday
my grandpa took us around the town and gave us the history of everything
he showed us the old cabin my great grandpa cash lived in
it was fun, but very hot and humid out!

during our tour at a lookout

My cousin Ryan is basically a stud.. and he not only goes to VMI {virginia military institute} but he also wrestles for them too.
He showed us around Lexington and gave us all the history of VMI.
It was so interesting and I cannot believe all the stuff those guys go through. They are such hard workers.

Ryan was our tour guide and even had a little following of other random people that wanted to hear the crazy stories he told us

Stonewall Jackson in front of VMI

In front of VMI

here is a picture of the barracks where the students live

After VMI we quickly crossed the line over to Washington and Lee University that is literally right next to VMI
We stopped and looked at the chapel there, very very pretty
I love all the buildings there and the character Lexington has

That was the end of our trip!
We had such a blast, I am hoping Dane and I can head to D.C. and New York soon and see more places together.

Outerbanks Family Reunion

*picture overload*
We have been MIA for a while because we went back to North Carolina and Virginia for the week to visit with my family.
Every two years my Dad's side of the family gets together for a beach trip to the Outerbanks, North Carolina we stay in a house that is right on the sound side and a quick bike ride away from the beach.
This is one of my favorite vacations, it is always so much fun to get together with the whole family since everyone lives all over the place.

here is our backyard---the sound side where we crab. kayak. and ride the wave runners

some pictures of everyone crabbing
we tie turkey necks to strings and hang them over the dock and watch the crabs jump on the necks. Then the kids scoop them up with the nets.
We did not eat the crabs this time but let them all go.

The beach was amazing and so warm. around 73 degrees.
I love outerbanks water because the waves just roll in and there is no shorebreak. I think it is so much more fun to play in.. but thats just me.

Brooke and our cousin Ryan at the beach

We stayed in the community Corolla Light and they have pools that are right but from the beach.
Charlee loved the water and loved jumping in the pool.

my parents.. they are so awesome

Bret Brooke and I with our cousins Jordan and Danny

Dane is in Summer School (boo) so he stayed in utah but made it out Thursday (yay)
He's a trooper--he has a test every Friday and missed one to spend with my family but made it up on Tuesday. I don't know how he does it taking physics in the summer. brutal.

the girls being silly at the end of the dock

Reese and Faye after swimming

cutest picture ever of charlee in her old school life jacket

Charlee was obsessed with the water and loved the wave runners that Tess took her on
It was a little scary to watch

Charlee on the wave runner
Dane was able to experience the crabbing and was loving it
He and Bret are like big kids

We had such a fun time and I know my family is already looking forward to 2013 when we can go again
We are trying to talk our awesome grandparents to stay for 2 weeks next time because one week just is not enough.
Thanks to my parents and my grandparents for getting us out there and the house we stayed in
It is always a fun time!
